The best of limit screen time of kids is to limit screen time of parents first. Kids imitate parents. You have no right to teach a discipline to your kids about screen time, if you yourself is watching it since mid night. Another thing is try to restrict sites of surfing kids do. Try to apply Child-lock sort of parameters. Do occasionally cross check the logs as what kids are watching on screen. It is not about distrust, but at tender age they do not know what to watch & what to ignore.

    My view is that it’s parent’s upbringing, which results in such incidents.

    Today’s fathers are totally busy earning bread and butter for the family.

    Today’s mothers are also very busy.

    There are no grandparents around…

    So everyone is busy and everyone is lonely…

    Kids don’t know how to tackle various situations…

    And then such things happen…

      Absolutely True. Parenting is not only about giving away money / arranging week end shopping or taking dinner at hotels. It is much much beyond that. Frequent conversation with your kids / playing with them / talking to them / having an emotional connectivity with them / supporting them are some of the basic facts to follow. Being in India, we have a culture of joint family. We just need to be together. Let kids grow under the shades of parents / grand parents & not with social media.
